Belly Candling – What Is It? How Was It? What You Should Know

A couple of years back I used reflexology as a way of relaxing and balancing my body when I left a stressful job and moved to a new country. I remember it helped a lot so I thought I would start to incorporate it back into my life as I focus on this winning at wellness journey.

Therefore recently I went to a reflexology place I visited a couple of years ago (there is one on every street corner in Singapore) and as I was sitting there looking around the room I saw we do “Belly Candling” umm what I have heard and even tried ear candling but belly candling???

I asked the therapist about it and they told me it helped to:-

  • Aid in eliminating toxins.
  • Helps to calm and aid in effective digestion and this is one of my health issues.
  • Improves immunity through benefiting your circulatory system.

I then asked what exactly they did?

Which is they use an aromatherapy hollow candle and hold it in my belly button and then a stomach massage is applied to aid in the circulation process.

With the information at hand I decided I would give it a go.

So how did I find it?

The sensation of the stomach massage was a little uncomfortable but strangely relaxing, I won’t lie I needed a bathroom not long after so keep this in mind and the bloat I had for about 2 days after probably had people thinking I was about 6 months pregnant lol (so therefore don’t try it the night you want to go out) also I felt like I had done 2000 AB crunches for about 1.5 days afterwards.

But amongst all that by the end of day 2 my stomach certainly felt calmer, I was lighter in feeling with bloating and water retention significantly less and I was happy with the results. I would probably do it again to see if it was a one off or if I experienced different benefits as I progress in my healthier lifestyle.
