A Morning Shot

As you age and you have to take control of your health and lifestyle choices gone are those youthful days of shots (hey because you were still out in the morning not suggesting anyone is a raging alcoholic 🙂

So instead of lick, sip, suck that tequila – may we recommend starting the day as I do with a healthy shot of sipping olive oil and sucking lemons as you rise and shine.

We have found taking a healthy shot of this oily antioxidant filled liquid first thing in the morning has many health benefits seen in a very short time research has shown it helps to:

  • Improve digestive health as it calms and soothes the stomach.
  • Keeps you regular.
  • Stabilizes blood sugar.
  • Helps to lower cholesterol.
  • A simple daily system of detoxing to help improve liver and gall bladder function.
  • Controls blood sugar levels helping to aid in weight loss.
  • Clearer more radiant skin.
  • Stronger nails.

To make this healthy elixir is I get a glass and pour one tablespoon of olive oil/one tablespoon of lemon juice and drink up. Some people do this in a glass of hot water as well.

You could also use olive oil and lemon as a simple salad dressing or drizzled over grilled/poached salmon or chicken.

It is completely understandable if people are skeptical and think ‘No way I couldn’t drink that!’ but trust us try it for one week and see how it makes you feel, the taste won’t be that bad VS the benefits you see in that week.
