Chocolate oh how I have been in love with you for most of my life.
You are my best friend and sometimes my rival.
You speak to me with your smooth milky tones.
And now as I embark on taking on wellness and winning I am scared of how our relationship will change? Change is a good thing right? It can even be healthy?
What will we do?
I know to of kept up my love of milk chocolate was going to be detrimental to my winning at wellness goals because moderation is just not something I have mastered with this friend. I have been known to easily consume row after row mindlessly.
So I was preparing myself for what I thought was going to be my most difficult challenge.
Then through research lo and behold my surprise when I found out about the good things dark chocolate has and can do such as:-
- Being High in Antioxidants, Vitamins and Minerals.
- Can improve blood circulation and lower blood pressure.
- Levels out blood sugar levels.
On top of this even WebMd found it to be healthy for you see here.
But my excitement was dimmed remembering my childhood and stealing my Grandpa’s dark CLUB chocolate only to find myself gagging and thinking who eats this? Why would they? Blech
But hey I also hated vegetables as a kid and love them now SO what did I have to loose.
Well I bought myself some 70% Cocoa Lindt dark chocolate and that bitterness I thought dark chocolate had as a child was actually tasty and I loved it! However what I was most surprised about is that one squares and I was more than satisfied and I feel my sweet tooth craving is completed.
However now the idea is in my head maybe I will go and sneak a square as a reward for finishing this post 🙂
